The Binghamton Senators kicked off another three-game in three night stretch on Friday at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena with a shootout victory against the Hershey Bears, 5-4.
 
Darren Kramer and Wacey Hamilton scored even strength goals for the B-Sens, while Dustin Gazley scored his first goal of the year on the penalty kill. Cole Schneider also scored on the power play. Stephane Da Costa and Louie Caporusso rallied goals for the B-Sens in the shootout.
 
Jeff Taffe scored two goals for Hershey. Peter LeBlanc and Jon DiSalvatore also tallied goals.
 
Nathan Lawson started in goal for Binghamton and turned aside 22 of 23 shots through the first two periods. Marc Cheverie took over in the third period, making 12 saves on 15 shots and all four shots in the shootout. Dany Sabourin was in goal for Hershey, saving total of 35 on 39 shots through regulation and overtime.
 
Saturday, Feb. 23: Albany 5, Binghamton 3
Shots: Albany 35, Binghamton 39
PP: Albany 1 for 4, Binghamton 2 for 7
 
The Albany Devils defeated the B-Sens, 5-3, in a comeback win on Saturday in Binghamton.
 
Mark Borowiecki and Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored on the power play. Shane Prince also netted a goal in the second period.
 
Joe Whitney had two goals on the night for the Devils. Also scoring for Albany was Mike Sislo, Phil DeSimone, and Steve Zalewski.
 
Marc Cheverie earned his third start of season for Binghamton, stopping 30 of 35 shots. Jeff Frazee started in goal for Albany turning aside 36 of 39 shots.
 
Sunday, Feb. 24: Binghamton 1, Adirondack 2
Shots: Binghamton 31, Adirondack 22
PP: Binghamton 0 for 6, Adirondack 1 for 6  
 
The B-Sens travelled to Glens Falls on Sunday where they lost a close game to the Adirondack Phantoms, 2-1. The game concluded the B-Sens’ second consecutive three-game stretch.
 
Dustin Gazley had the B-Sens only goal of the night.
 
Matt Mangene and Jason Sim each scored for the Phantoms.
 
Marc Cheverie tended goal for the B-Sens, stopping 20 of 22 shots. Cal Heeter started in goal for the Phantoms stopping 30 of 31 shots. 
 
Record:31-17-1-4
 
Standings:The B-Sens are second place overall in the East Division (67 points).

THIS WEEK…
 
Friday, March 1 @ Hamilton Bulldogs (Montreal Canadiens) – 7:30 p.m.
 
The B-Sens will kick off another three-game stretch as they travel to Canada to face two North Division opponents. Friday the team will head to the Copps Coliseum to face the Hamilton Bulldogs this Friday.
The B-Sens have yet to lose a game in regulation to a North Division team this season. They are 7-0-0-1 against those opponents.
 
This will mark the first of two meetings against the Bulldogs this season. Binghamton currently holds a 10-10-1-2-1 all-time series record against Hamilton.
 
Hamilton currently sits in fifth place in the North Division with a 21-26-1-5 record and 48 points. Despite their rank in the North Division, the Bulldogs have had some recent success going 7-3-0-0 in their past ten games. 
 
Center Gabriel Dumont leads Hamilton in goals (15), assists (15) and points (30). Zack Stortini ranks sixth in the American Hockey League for penalty minutes with 180.
 
Saturday, March 2 @ Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) – 3 p.m.
Sunday, March 3 @ Toronto Marlies – 3 p.m.
 
After Friday night’s game in Hamilton, the B-Sens will head to Toronto to play back-to-back games against the Marlies. Binghamton is currently 2-0-0-0 versus Toronto.
 
The B-Sens previously beat the Marlies 4-2 on Jan. 18.
 
Toronto currently holds a record of 27-18-2-4 and 60 points. They are tied for second place in the North Division.
 
Ryan Hamilton sits ninth in the AHL and leads the team with 21 goals. Goaltender Ben Scrivens is ranked seventh in the league for a 2.22 goal-against-average. Paul Ranger remains the Marlies’ plus/minus leader (+17).
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Three forwards scored their first goals of the seasons against the Hershey Bears on Friday. Rookie Darren Kramer put one top shelf unassisted in the first period, giving Kramer his first career AHL goal. Kramer’s goal would tie the game at one. Wacey Hamilton scored with just 21 seconds remaining in the first to put Binghamton up by a goal heading into the first intermission. Dustin Gazley also scored his first career AHL goal in the third period of action on the penalty kill to give the B-Sens a total of 15 short-handed goals on the season. The B-Sens would go on to win the game, 5-4.
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
 
The Binghamton Senators will host their fourth annual Hockey & Heels event, presented by Clear Channel Radio, on Tuesday, March 5. The event is open to all women ages 18 and over.
 
Beginning at 5 p.m. participants will meet in the Arena Club on the third floor of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena to enjoy a special happy hour featuring a wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and cash bar courtesy of American Food & Vending. The women will then participate in a series of workshops.
 
Hockey & Heels workshops
  • Live, on-ice hockey “chalk talk” with assistant coach Steve Stirling, featuring B-Sens players
  • Broadcasting/play-by-play seminar featuring the voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg
  • Video session with video coach Matt Meacham
  • Hockey & Heels “photo booth” session
  • Locker room tour and equipment tutorial with equipment manager Tom Severance
  • Player Q & A
The event will be co-hosted by B-Sens’ game night host Lisa Marie and Lori from the Mix 103.3 morning show.
 
Each participant will receive a commemorative Hockey & Heels wine glass, a swag bag courtesy of the Basketcase Soap Company and a ticket to the Saturday, March 9 B-Sens home game versus the Rochester Americans. Participants will also receive a raffle ticket for their chance to win great door prizes from the B-Sens, Clear Channel Radio, Je’taime Hair Dezine, and Tanning Bed.
 
New this year, on Saturday there will be a post-game Ladies’ Night party in the “Zone” at the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center (225 Water St., Binghamton). The party is open to the public – both male and female - but Hockey & Heels participants will have access to a special V.I.P. area featuring drink specials.
