Cole Schneider led the offense for the B-Sens earning three points on the night on two goals and an assist. Pat Cannone, Mark Borowiecki and Derek Grant also scored goals for Binghamton.

Shane Prince and Danny New tallied goals for Binghamton in regulation. Prince also drew an assist on New’s goal to end the night with a pair of points. B-Sens forward Louie Caporusso assisted on both goals, earning two points on the night as well.

Chad Kolarik and Trevor Smith scored goals in regulation for the Penguins.

Stephane Da Costa and Pat Cannone each scored goals in the shootout for the B-Sens, but the Pens did one better. Kolarik, Riley Holzapfel and Smith each scored goals in the shootout, with Smith’s third round tally sealing the win for Wilkes-Barre.

THIS WEEK…

Saturday, April 6 @ Norfolk Admirals – 7:15 p.m.

The B-Sens will spend the weekend at Norfolk’s Scope Arena where they will face the Admirals in back-to-back games to wrap up an eight game season series. The teams last met at the Broome Country Veterans Memorial Arena on March 16; a 5-1 win for the B-Sens. Binghamton enters the weekend with a record of 4-2-0-0 versus the Admirals this season.

Norfolk currently sits in fifth place in the East Division with a 33-30-4-1 record and 71 points.  Despite sitting in last place in their division, the Admirals have gone 6-4-0-0 in their last ten games.

Goaltender Frederik Andersen ranks fourth overall in the American Hockey League in goals-against average with 2.16. Rookie blueliner Sami Vatanen sits second among AHL defensemen in points with 43 (8+35=43).

SENS SNIPPETS…

Forward Shane Prince had a good weekend for the B-Sens, grabbing points in both home games. Prince earned an assist against the Adirondack Phantoms last Friday and tallied a goal and an assist versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday. Prince is now second on the team in goals scored with 17 and second overall in points with 31.

Cole Schneider put the puck behind Cal Heeter on a shorthanded penalty shot opportunity against the Adirondack Phantoms last Friday. Schneider had three points on the night (two goals, one assist.) Schneider’s attempt was just the second penalty shot opportunity given to the B-Sens this season. Hugh Jessiman previously scored a penalty shot goal on Albany Devils’ goaltender Jeff Frazee on Feb. 10 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
