BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today the details of forward Colin Greening’s “Holiday Hat Trick” program. The program consists of three special fundraising events to help Greening and the Binghamton Senators raise a goal of $5,000 for the Family Enrichment Network’s annual Adopt-A-Family holiday program.
"I have been brought up in a very fortunate situation with a wonderful loving family. My parents always instilled in me a sense of appreciation for what I've been given in my life. When I learned about the Family Enrichment Network at our golf tournament I realized how many people look to them for help,” explained Greening.
“I was amazed at the different kinds of programs the Family Enrichment Network offers and how many children depend on them during the holidays. I felt like I wanted to get involved and so I started asking both FEN and the Senators how I could get involved and everything snowballed from there."
As a result the Binghamton Senators players, coaches, owners, staff and wives have partnered with Greening in his efforts to raise money for the Adopt-A-Family holiday program.
Saturday, Nov. 13 the B-Sens kicked off the Holiday Hat Trick as they held a silent auction for Binghamton native Jerry D’Amigo’s game worn Toronto Marlies jersey. The jersey helped raise over $1,000 for the Adopt-A-Family holiday program.
Thursday, Nov. 25 as the B-Sens host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the B-Sens will raffle off a replica Steve Stirling Broome Dusters jersey. Assistant coach Stirling played for the Dusters from 1974 to 1976. The B-Sens wives and girlfriends will be selling raffle tickets on the main concourse. The winner will be drawn at random and presented with the jersey immediately following the game.
The Holiday Hat Trick concludes on Tuesday, Dec. 7 as the California Grill (912 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, N.Y.) generously donates 10% of their gross sales of the day to the cause. Greening and his Binghamton Senators teammates will assist in serving food at California Grill beginning at 5 p.m. Additionally there will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction for items provided by the Binghamton Senators, the Basket Case Soap Company and various other businesses. If you wish to support the B-Sens efforts but are unable to stay, take out is available.
