B-SENS AND PENS PARTNER FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIREFIGHTERS

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that they will team up with their East Division rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for a pair of games to honor the efforts of their local police and firemen.

As the teams take to the ice this Friday, Dec. 3 at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza (255 Highland Park Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, P.A.) the Penguins will wear special firefighter themed jerseys, while the B-Sens will wear special police themed jerseys.

The Penguins have extended a ticket discount to Binghamton fans who wish to make the trip down for the game. Fans can purchase tickets for $21, $19 or $16. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Foundation 58, a non-profit organization that financially assists firefighters, police and emergency medical personnel who are battling cancer. For more information or to purchase tickets, fans can contact Chris Sipsky at 570-970-3607.

In turn, Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena members of the Binghamton police and fire departments will take on members of the Wilkes-Barre area police and fire departments at 4:30 p.m. in a special “I-81 Battle of the Badges” game, to raise awareness for and benefit the American Heart Association. The game takes the place of the “Heart Cup”, an annual ice hockey match between the Binghamton police and fire departments that began in 1985 to help raise money to fight heart disease.

Following the charity game, the Senators will host the Penguins at 7:05 p.m. The B-Sens will wear their special firefighter themed jerseys, while the Penguins will wear special police themed jerseys.

Immediately following the game the B-Sens will auction off both their police and firefighter themed jerseys, with proceeds from the jersey auction benefitting the Broome Sports Foundation and the American Heart Association respectively.

Discount tickets can be purchased for $15 and include admission to both the Battle of the Badges and the B-Sens game. A portion of each ticket sold through this special offer will be donated to the American Heart Association. For more information or to purchase tickets fans can contact Jason Camp or Kali Fisher at 607-722-7367.
