BEARS BLANK B-SENS, 3-0

HERSHEY, P.A. – The Binghamton Senators fell to the Hershey Bears 3-0 in a midweek tilt at the Giant Center. Boyd Kane, Graham Mink, and Garrett Mitchell each recorded goals for Hershey. Braden Holtby started earned the nod in goal for the Bears, turning away all 15 shots faced en route to earning his second shutout of the season.  
 
Mink gave the Bears an early 1-0 lead, netting his third of the season at 4:04 of the opening period. The goal came ten seconds into a roughing call against Binghamton blue liner, Mark Borowiecki. Keith Aucoin and Jacob Micflikier assisted on the tally.
 
Garrett Mitchell added to the Bears lead at 12:47 as he buried the rebound on Mattias Sjogren’s initial shot.
 
Boyd Kane increased the Bears’ lead to 3-0 at 14:22 of the second as he backhanded a rebound over Robin Lehner. Micflikier earned the primary assist, his second of the game.
 
Lehner started in goal for Binghamton, stopping 24 of 27 shots through the first two periods of play as he fell to 4-4-1 on the season. Mike McKenna took over goaltending duties for the B-Sens in the third, stopping all eight shots he faced. 
 
The B-Sens travel to Rochester on Friday for a 7:35 p.m. game against the Amerks.
