The Binghamton Senators finished a busy weekend on the road with a 2-1 victory over the Springfield Falcons on Sunday evening to grab sole possession of third place in the East Division standings.

After two periods of scoreless hockey the Falcons grabbed a 1-0 lead when leading scorer Ryan Potulny buried his 22nd marker of the season on the power play.

Binghamton answered with a man-advantage marker off the stick of defenseman Tomas Kudelka with just seven minutes remaining in regulation.  Fellow defenseman Mattias Karlsson assisted on the game-tying goal, as did Josh Hennessy.

Two minutes later Hennessy struck for the game-winning goal, his team-leading 15th marker of the season to give Binghamton its 27th win and sole possession of third place in the East Division.

Netminder Martin Gerber stopped 27 shots to earn his fifth win in net for Binghamton.  The B-Sens penalty kill unit was 9/10 on the day.

The B-Sens (27-16-5-3, 62 pts.) return home for their next four games beginning with a tilt with Albany (21-23-3-2, 47 pts.) on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Good seats remain for this contest. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, by calling ticket master at 722-7272, or at the Arena box office inside the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
