Center Peter Regin scored two shootout goals to lead Binghamton to a 2-1 win over East Division rival Philadelphia on Saturday night at the Wachovia Spectrum and extend the B-Sens lead over the Phantoms to eight points in the race for the fourth and final playoff position.

The B-Sens held the Phantoms to just 21 shots on the night. Left-winger Ilya Zubov scored the lone regulation goal for Binghamton, a power-play tally to give him 14 on the season. Defensemen Mattias Karlsson and Matt Taormina assisted on the goal.

Philadelphia also scored its lone regulation marker on the power play, with former B-Sen Rob Sirianni potting his sixths of the season.

Netminder Jeff Glass turned aside 20 shots in regulation and overtime, plus four of six shootout attempts to secure his 14th win of the season.

The B-Sens (38-25-5-3, 84 pts.) host the Phantoms (35-27-2-4, 76 pts.) on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. in the final contest of the year between the squads. Good seats still remain for the contest. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com, by calling ticket master at 722-7272, or at the Arena box office inside the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
