HARTFORD, C.T. – The B-Sens travelled to Hartford to take on the Atlantic division’s Wolf Pack Wednesday night. The Wolf Pack entered the game looking to even the score after the B-Sens defeated them 5-3, Oct. 3 in their home opener at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Ryan Keller struck first, putting the B-Sens on the board 1-0 at 17:26 of the first period, with his team leading tenth goal of the season scored on the power play. Denis Hamel and Martin St. Pierre each earned an assist. The trio continues to hold the top three ranking in scoring for the B-Sens this season; Keller ranking first with 19 points (10 + 9), St. Pierre second with 18 points (7 + 11), and Hamel third with 17 points (6 + 11).
The game would remain scoreless until the Wolf Pack’s Paul Crowder found the back of the Binghamton net at 16:38 of the third period on a power play, sending the game into overtime.
The game entered a shootout. Andy Chiodo, who stopped 30 shots in regulation for the B-Sens, blanked all four Hartford players faced in the shootout. Keller and Hamel each buried their chances for Binghamton, earning the 2-1 shutout victory.
The B-Sens return to Binghamton Friday night, Nov. 20 to face the Hershey Bears at 7:05 p.m.
