MONTREAL, Q.C. – A stretch of three games in three nights for the Binghamton Senators kicked off tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal as the B-Sens faced the Hamilton Bulldogs, affiliate to the National Hockey League’s Canadiens.

After six consecutive starts in the Binghamton goal, Barry Brust earned himself a night off as rookie net minder Robin Lehner received the nod in goal for the B-Sens.

Despite being outshot 16 to one in the first period, the Senators escaped down by a single goal.  Bulldogs defenseman Mathieu Carle put his team on the board first, firing a shot that managed to sneak in glove side on Lehner at 11:45 of the period.  Aaron Palushaj recorded the lone assist.

Just 3:51 into the second stanza, the B-Sens managed to tie the score on their third shot on goal.  Erik Condra centered a pass to Jim O’Brien who beat Curtis Sanford to knot the score at one.  Colin Greening would also be credited with an assist on the O’Brien tally.

Just over three minutes later, the Bulldogs regained their lead as Ryan White hammered home his first goal of the season to put the ‘Dogs up 2-1.

1:25 into the final period of play two former Hamilton Bulldogs combined for Binghamton to tie the score at two apiece.  Andre Benoit tallied his first goal of the season with just one second remaining in a power play that carried over from the second period, while Corey Locke added an assist.  Rookie forward Bobby Butler added a helper as well.

Yannick Weber however notched the go ahead goal, his seventh of the season, at 12:25 to put the Bulldogs back on top 3-2.  Palushaj earned an assist for his second point of the game.

With a minute remaining in regulation, Binghamton pulled Lehner from the net in a desperate attempt to tie the score, however the Bulldogs’ Andreas Engqvist and David Desharnais each hit the empty net in the final minute of regulation to give Hamilton a commanding 5-2 victory.
