BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Binghamton matched its season high for goals in a game and continued its dominance of Syracuse with a 7-0 pounding of the visiting Crunch on Friday at the Broome County Arena.

Jim O’Brien, who had a goal and two assists for a game-high three points, was one of seven different Senators to score on the night.

Kaspars Daugavins and Zack Smith each registered a goal and a helper for Binghamton, while Colin Greening, Erik Condra, Bobby Butler, and Roman Wick also found the back of the net.

The Senators burst out to a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes before adding two goals in the second period and one in the first. Binghamton, which entered with the AHL’s fifth-best power play (20.8 percent), finished 3-for-4 on the man advantage.

Mike Hoffman and Corey Locke each recorded two assists in the victory, and goaltender Robin Lehner made 25 saves for his second shutout of the season, both against Syracuse.

It marked Binghamton’s third consecutive shutout over the Crunch overall. Barry Brust made 33 saves in a 4-0 win at Syracuse on Nov. 17, and Lehner stopped 33 shots in a 5-0 home-ice triumph on Nov. 7.

Syracuse’s lone victory in the season series came in the club’s first meeting, a 2-1 victory at the Onondaga County War Memorial on Oct. 16.

The Senators now have a point in four straight games (3-0-0-1), while the Crunch dropped their third straight outing.
