SENS SNIPPETS…

Forwards Mark Stone and Shane Prince scored their first professional goals last week. Stone hit the empty net in Binghamton’s 5-2 victory over the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday. Prince deflected a Tyler Eckford shot in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Rochester Americans – Prince’s hometown team.

Mika Zibanejad also scored a first last week – his first North American professional goal. It came at 11:33 of the third period in Binghamton’s 5-2 victory over the Phantoms on Friday.

Derek Grant has been on fire for the B-Sens as of late. The forward has four points, all goals, in three straight games for Binghamton. He now leads the team in goals (5) and shorthanded goals (2).

Corey Cowick tallied a pair of assists in Friday’s 5-2 win over Adirondack. It was his second straight multi-point game (he scored a goal and an assist Nov. 10 vs. Norfolk).  He now has the most multi-points of any member of the B-Sens so far in the young season.

B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…

B-Sens players and staff have been growing mustaches all month long for Movember.

Movember is an annual charity event during the month of November where men are encouraged to grow a mustache while raising funds and awareness for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

The B-Sens have posted pictures and updates of the team’s progress via Twitter @BSensStache. There is also a photo gallery tracking the team’s weekly progress on the B-Sens official Facebook page. A B-Sens Movember starting lineup – one goaltender, two defenseman and three forwards – will be determined based on feedback via Twitter and Facebook.

The efforts of B-Sens players and staff members, spearheaded by B-Sens Movember team captain Eric Gryba, will then culminate as the team hosts Bridgeport on Saturday, Nov. 24. During the game, there will be a special Movember table on the main concourse of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena where pictures of the B-Sens Movember starting lineup will be on display.

Fans are encouraged to visit the table to make a donation on behalf of the player whom they feel has grown the best mustache. With each donation of $1 or more, fans will receive a raffle ticket to place in the jar that corresponds with the picture of their chosen player.

The B-Sens player whose mustache earns the most donations will draw a winner from his jar. That winner will receive a special meet and greet session with the B-Sens Movember starting lineup and an autographed action photo of the winning player courtesy of Just Sports Photography.

Fans can also donate to the B-Sens’ cause directly all month long by visiting http://us.movember.com/team/795577

Funds raised in the U.S. support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men, through programs run directly by Movember and its men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG.
