The Binghamton Senators kicked off a three game Canadian road trip last Friday with a 3-2 win against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
 
Cole Schneider, Corey Cowick and Jean-Gabriel Pageau each scored for the B-Sens. Cowick and Pageau also tallied assists in the game, each earning two points. 
 
Joey Tenute and Louis LeBlanc each tallied goals for the Bulldogs.
 
Nathan Lawson started in goal for Binghamton and turned aside 28 of 30 shots to earn the win. Robert Mayer started in net for Hamilton, stopping 27 of the 30 shots that he faced.
 
Saturday, March 2: Binghamton 4, Toronto 2
Shots: Binghamton 20, Toronto 27
PP: Binghamton 1 for 2, Toronto 1 for 6
 
The B-Sens defeated the Toronto Marlies 4-2 on Saturday to ensure a winning record on their three game road trip.
 
Stephane Da Costa and Fredrik Claesson each scored in the first period, while Pat Cannone and Shane Prince would both score for Binghamton in the third.
 
Greg McKegg and Johnson City native Jerry D’Amigo both scored goals for the Marlies.
 
Marc Cheverie earned the win stopping 25 of 27 shots. Jussi Rynnas made 13 saves on 17 shots for Toronto before being pulled from the game in third period in favor of Mark Owuya who stopped all three shots he faced.
 
Sunday, March 3: Binghamton 1, Toronto 2 (Shootout)
Shots: Binghamton 29, Toronto 29
PP: Binghamton 0 for 5, Toronto 0 for 5
 
The B-Sens concluded their three game road trip with another game against the Marlies, however this time Toronto would best Binghamton, 2-1, in a shootout.
 
Dustin Gazley would score the only goal in regulation for the B-Sens while Greg Scott tallied the lone Marlies goal.
 
Gazley scored the only goal for Binghamton in the shootout. Ryan Hamilton and Joe Colborne each netted shootout goals for the Marlies. Colborne’s second round goal proved to be the game winner.
 
Nathan Lawson was back between the pipes for the B-Sens stopping 28 of 29 shots in regulation and overtime before stopping three out of five shootout attempts. Drew MacIntyre started in goal for the Marlies, also stopping 28 of 29 shots in regulation and overtime and four out of the five B-Sens shootout attempts to secure the victory.
 
Record:33-17-1-5
 
Standings:The B-Sens are second place overall in the East Division (72 points).

THIS WEEK…
 
Friday, March 8 vs. Connecticut Whale (New York Rangers) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens will kick off their fourth consecutive three-games in three nights weekend as they host the Connecticut Whale Friday at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The meeting is the first of two between the teams this season.
 
Binghamton currently holds a 7-4-1-0 all-time series record against the Whale.
 
Connecticut currently sits in second place in the Northeast Division with a 27-23-5-3 record and 62 points. The Whale have been surging in their last ten games, posting a record of 6-2-1-1 over that stretch. 
 
Center Kris Newbury is tied for third overall in the American Hockey League in points with 52. The Whale scoring leader also leads the team in goals (18) and assists (34).
 
Promotions: Friday is 80’s Night! Be prepared for 80’s music and video clips all night long! Fans are encouraged to wear their most bangin’ 80’s outfit.
 
Also on Friday night, the first 500 fans through the gate at 6 p.m. will receive a Ground Round menu magnet.
 
Saturday, March 9 vs. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) – 7:05 p.m.
Wednesday, March 13 @ Rochester Americans – 7:05 p.m.
 
After the Whale leave town, in come the in-state rival Rochester Americans for the last home game of the weekend.
 
The B-Sens have been dominating the Amerks in the season series thus far posting an impressive 5-0-0-1 record against the North Division foe. Saturday’s game marks the seventh of eight total games to be played between the teams this season. They will conclude the season series next Wednesday at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. 
 
Rochester currently holds a record of 29-22-2-1 and 61 points. The Americans are in fourth place in the North Division.
 
Mark Mancari leads the Amerks and is tied for tenth in the AHL in points (48). Defenseman Brayden McNabb is second on the team in assists (29) trailing Mancari by one for the team lead.
 
Promotions: Saturday night is Ladies Night! To celebrate the ladies, the first 500 fans 18 years of age and older will receive a coupon for a free tan courtesy of Tanning Bed. 
 
Saturday also features a post-game party at the Zone at the Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center featuring a cash bar and free hor d'oeuvres.
 
Sunday, March 10 @ Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals) – 5 p.m.
 
The B-Sens are back on the road Sunday as they visit the Giant Center in Hershey where they will face the East Division rival Bears.
 
The season series has gone the B-Sens way thus far. The team has posted a 4-2-0-0 record against the Bears. However, all six games were decided by only one goal with two of those games going to a shootout.
 
Hershey currently holds a record of 28-21-3-5 and 64 points. The Bears are sitting in third place in the East Division trailing the B-Sens by eight points and the division leading Syracuse Crunch by 11 points.
 
AHL All-Star Jeff Taffe is leading the Bears and the league in assists with 36. He also leads the Bears in points (51) and his 15 goals tie him with Jon DiSalvatore for the team lead.
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Defenseman Fredrik Claesson scored his first career AHL goal during the first period of Saturday night’s 4-2 victory against the Toronto Marlies. Claesson has appeared in 50 games with the B-Sens so far this season, recording seven points (one goal, six assists) and adding 38 penalty minutes. 
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
 
On Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 Mended Little Hearts of Binghamton will be hosting a basket raffle on the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena concourse. The raffle will raise research money for children's heart conditions.

It is the mission of Mended Little Hearts to increase awareness about childhood heart conditions, raise money for research and to connect families who have children with heart conditions with other families to offer support and a sense of hope for the future.
 
Raffle tickets will be one for $1, three for $2 and 10 for $5. Raffle items include baskets from Partylite, Pet Depot and Tastefully Simple, girls’ hair accessories from Bella’s Boutique, a handmade necklace and many more.
 
Also starting this weekend, and throughout the month of March, the B-Sens will have four custom built lockers designed by the B-Sens players on display on the arena concourse. The lockers will be raffled off to benefit Broome County Habitat for Humanity.
 
Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5. The winner will be drawn on March 30.
