BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today the full 2010-11 regular season schedule, which will see the B-Sens open their ninth season at home against the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday, Oct. 8, at 7:05 p.m.
The B-Sens are poised to face each team in the AHL’s Eastern Conference at least twice, including eight games against the defending Calder Cup champion and East Division rival, Hershey Bears. The B-Sens and Bears meet for the first time Friday, Oct. 15 in Binghamton.
Binghamton will play twelve games against three teams in the Western Conference; the Hamilton Bulldogs (two), Toronto Marlies (two) and Rochester Americans (eight).
Hamilton will host the B-Sens on Friday, Nov. 5 at Montreal’s Bell Centre, home of the Bulldogs’ NHL affiliate Canadiens. In turn, Friday, Nov. 26 the B-Sens are set to host to the Bulldogs at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place, home of their NHL affiliate Senators.
Weekend games fill the majority of the B-Sens’ schedule again this season with 30 of the 40 home contests scheduled for a Friday (14) or Saturday (16). January will be the busiest month of the season for Binghamton, as the club will play 15 games (seven home, eight road) in 31 days.
The B-Sens schedule also features three traditional and much anticipated holiday games. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins come to town on Thursday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving, Adirondack returns Sunday, Dec. 26 for a post-Christmas match, while the Albany River Rats are set to join the B-Sens Friday, Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve.
The B-Sens’ 80-game 2010-11 regular season schedule will conclude at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, Saturday, April 9 at 7:05 p.m. versus Adirondack.
